Job Description: The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory of raw materials, equipment, and services necessary for pharmaceutical operations. This role involves supplier management, contract negotiation, and ensuring procurement aligns with regulatory requirements and quality standards to support efficient production and business goals.
Key Responsibilities: Sourcing and Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services.
Procurement Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies based on organizational requirements and production schedules.
Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to pharmaceutical industry regulations, including WHO-GMP, CDSCO, and international standards.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure raw materials and services meet the required standards.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
Cost Optimization: Analyze procurement costs and implement strategies to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
Inventory Management: Work closely with warehouse and production teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and avoid stockouts or overstocking.
Vendor Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with delivery schedules and quality standards.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions and compliance issues.
Reporting: Prepare and present procurement reports and insights to senior management.
Education Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
Certifications: Professional certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) are advantageous.
Experience: Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
