Job Description: The R&D Manager is responsible for overseeing the research and development activities in a pharmaceutical organization. This role involves planning, managing, and executing R&D projects to develop new pharmaceutical products, improve existing formulations, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The R&D Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to align R&D efforts with business objectives and market needs.
Key Responsibilities: Research and Development Strategy: Develop and implement R&D strategies to meet organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
New Product Development: Lead the development of new formulations, dosage forms, and drug delivery systems.
Process Optimization: Oversee the improvement of manufacturing processes for cost efficiency and quality enhancement.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all R&D activities comply with GMP, Schedule M, and international regulatory guidelines.
Project Management: Plan and manage R&D projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with business priorities.
Collaboration: Work closely with quality assurance, production, and regulatory affairs teams to support product development and commercialization.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the R&D budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor the R&D team to foster innovation and high performance.
Documentation: Ensure accurate and complete documentation of R&D activities, including lab reports, stability studies, and project updates.
Innovation: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in pharmaceutical R&D and incorporate them into projects.
Education Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Formulation Development, or a related discipline.
Certifications: Specialized certifications in drug development or project management (e.g., PMP) are advantageous.
Experience: Proven experience in R&D roles with a strong understanding of formulation development, process optimization, and regulatory compliance.
