Job Description: The Internal Medicine Clinical Manager is a pivotal role focused on the operational management of the internal medicine department. This individual works closely with the Chief of Internal Medicine to implement policies, procedures, and initiatives that enhance patient care, staff efficiency, and the overall operation of the department. The Clinical Manager oversees the administrative and clinical staff within the department, ensuring that all activities align with the hospital’s goals and standards of care.

Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the internal medicine department, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Quality Improvement: Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Staff Development: Coordinate the recruitment, training, and professional development of departmental staff, fostering a supportive and productive work environment.
Patient Care Coordination: Ensure efficient patient flow and care coordination within the department and with other departments, addressing any barriers to care.
Budget and Resource Management: Assist in developing and managing the department’s budget, ensuring optimal use of resources and financial sustainability.
Policy Implementation: Work with departmental leadership to develop and enforce clinical and administrative policies, ensuring they meet current healthcare practices and regulations.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between the department and other hospital units, as well as external stakeholders, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

Education Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or related field. Master’s degree in healthcare administration (MHA) or related field preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in clinical management or leadership within an internal medicine or similar department.
Licensure/Certification: For clinical professionals, appropriate licensure or certification (e.g., RN) is required. Certification in healthcare management is a plus.
