Job Description: Counselors are professionals trained to offer guidance and support to individuals dealing with personal, social, or psychological challenges. They employ various therapeutic techniques to help people understand their emotions, behaviors, and relationships, facilitating personal growth and well-being.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct assessments to identify clients’ issues, needs, and goals.
Develop therapeutic plans and utilize appropriate counseling techniques to address clients’ concerns.
Provide individual, family, or group counseling sessions.
Offer crisis intervention services when necessary.
Maintain confidential records of client interactions, progress, and treatment plans.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
Educate clients on strategies for coping with challenges and making positive life changes.
Advocate for clients and connect them with additional resources or services as needed.

Education Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field; a Master’s degree is often required for clinical positions.
Licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent, depending on the jurisdiction and specialization.
Certification or specialized training in specific therapy modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT) can be beneficial.
Experience in a counseling or mental health setting.
