Job Description: The Assistant Purchase Manager supports the Purchase Manager in overseeing and managing the company’s procurements and supply chain operations. This role involves assisting in the procurement of goods and services, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing strategies.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
Manage daily purchasing activities, supervise staff, and allocate tasks.
Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers and vendors.
Monitor inventory levels and determine purchasing needs.
Research potential vendors and compare their products and prices.
Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required.
Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
Liaise with delivery and warehouse teams to ensure goods are received on time.
Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
Review and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
Proven experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position.
Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
