Job Description: The Logistics Manager in a healthcare setting plays a crucial role in overseeing the logistics operations, ensuring the efficient and timely distribution and transportation of medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals within the healthcare facility. This role encompasses inventory management, warehousing, distribution, and fleet management, aiming to optimize logistics processes to support patient care and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities: Logistics Strategy: Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective distribution of goods and services within the facility.
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained to meet the healthcare facility’s needs without overstocking or understocking.
Distribution Coordination: Coordinate the distribution of supplies and equipment within the facility, ensuring timely deliveries to various departments.
Vendor Coordination: Work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure smooth logistics operations, including timely pickups, deliveries, and adherence to quality standards.
Fleet Management: Manage the healthcare facility’s fleet of vehicles for transportation of goods and services, ensuring maintenance, scheduling, and compliance with regulations.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all logistics operations comply with health and safety regulations, as well as environmental laws and guidelines.
Cost Management: Monitor logistics costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements without compromising service quality.
Technology Implementation: Utilize logistics software and technology to optimize inventory tracking, distribution processes, and data analysis for continuous improvement.
Team Leadership: Lead and manage the logistics team, providing training, setting performance standards, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement logistics plans for emergency preparedness, ensuring the facility can quickly respond to urgent supply needs in crisis situations.

Education Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management, ideally within a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of healthcare supply needs and challenges.
Certifications: Certifications such as the Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) can be advantageous.
Skills and Competencies: Excellent organizational and leadership skills, proficiency in logistics software, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
