Job Description: The Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager in a healthcare organization is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the billing and accounts receivable functions. This includes the management of incoming payments, ensuring timely and accurate billing, reducing days sales outstanding (DSO), and maintaining low levels of bad debt. The AR Manager plays a crucial role in the financial health of the organization by optimizing cash flow and ensuring that revenue is recognized and collected efficiently.

Key Responsibilities: Revenue Cycle Management: Oversee the entire accounts receivable process, from billing to cash posting, ensuring procedures are efficient and compliant with healthcare regulations.
Billing Accuracy: Ensure that all charges are accurately captured and billed in a timely manner to the appropriate payers or patients.
Cash Collection: Develop strategies to ensure timely collection of payments, reduce DSO, and improve the overall financial position of the organization.
Denial Management: Implement processes to quickly address and resolve denied claims, reducing the impact on cash flow.
Team Leadership: Manage and train the accounts receivable team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and high performance.
Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze AR reports to monitor performance metrics, identify trends, and develop action plans to address issues.
Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations and internal controls over the AR process.
Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with other departments, such as billing, coding, and patient services, to ensure a seamless revenue cycle process.

Education Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or specific healthcare financial management certifications can be advantageous.
Experience: Significant experience in accounts receivable management, preferably within the healthcare sector, demonstrating a track record of improving AR operations and financial outcomes.
Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership and team management skills, expertise in healthcare billing and revenue cycle processes, proficiency with AR software and systems, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
