Job Description: The Department Coordinator is a central figure in managing the administrative and operational functions of a healthcare department. This role involves coordinating daily activities, facilitating communication between staff, managing schedules, and ensuring that departmental operations run smoothly. The Department Coordinator acts as a liaison between the department and other hospital units, handling administrative tasks that allow clinical staff to focus on patient care.
Key Responsibilities: Administrative Support: Provides comprehensive administrative support to the department head and other staff, including document preparation, managing correspondence, and maintaining records.
Scheduling and Coordination: Manages the scheduling of meetings, appointments, and departmental events, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
Communication Facilitation: Acts as a key point of contact for the department, facilitating communication within the department and with other units, patients, and external stakeholders.
Resource Management: Assists in the inventory and ordering of supplies, ensuring that the department is well-stocked and within budgetary constraints.
Data Management: Maintains accurate and up-to-date records, databases, and reports, contributing to the efficient operation of the department and compliance with regulatory standards.
Process Improvement: Participates in the development and implementation of procedures and systems that improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
Staff Support: Provides logistical support to departmental staff, assisting with onboarding, training, and other personnel-related activities.
Education Qualifications: Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience in administrative roles within a healthcare setting is preferred.
Skills: Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite), strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities.
