Job Description: Interventional radiologists are specialized physicians who use imaging guidance to perform minimally invasive procedures for diagnosing and treating a variety of medical conditions. They play a critical role in providing targeted treatments with reduced recovery times and minimal risk compared to traditional surgeries
Key Responsibilities: Image-Guided Procedures: Perform procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, embolization, and biopsies using imaging techniques like X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and ultrasound.
Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients’ medical history, symptoms, and diagnostic imaging to determine the appropriate interventional procedure.
Procedure Planning: Develop detailed plans for interventional procedures, ensuring precise targeting of treatment areas while minimizing impact on surrounding tissues.
Patient Education: Explain procedures, risks, benefits, and post-procedure care to patients and their families, ensuring informed consent.
Procedure Execution: Conduct procedures with a high degree of precision, utilizing specialized instruments and imaging technology.
Post-Procedure Care: Monitor patients’ recovery, manage complications, and provide follow-up care instructions.
Collaboration: Work closely with other medical professionals, including surgeons, oncologists, and primary care physicians, to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of procedures, outcomes, and patient progress for medical and legal purposes.
Research and Development: Engage in clinical research to advance interventional radiology techniques and contribute to medical literature.
Continuing Education: Stay current with advancements in imaging technology, interventional techniques, and best practices through ongoing education and training.
Education Qualifications: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Completion of a residency in diagnostic radiology.
Fellowship training in interventional radiology.
Board certification in radiology and interventional radiology.
State medical license and credentials for practicing interventional radiology.

About the Role: Collaborates with surgeons for pre-operative and post-operative imaging and interventions.
Works with oncologists to provide targeted cancer treatments, such as tumor ablation and chemoembolization.
Coordinates with primary care physicians to manage chronic conditions through interventional treatments.
Engages with emergency medicine teams for urgent procedures like stopping internal bleeding or treating life-threatening conditions.
Participates in multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans for complex medical cases.
