Job Description: The Unit Director for a Breast Care Specialist unit is a pivotal leadership role within a healthcare facility, tasked with overseeing the strategic, operational, and clinical aspects of breast care services. This position involves managing a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients with breast conditions, including cancer. The Unit Director ensures that the unit delivers high-quality, evidence-based care, fosters a culture of excellence and compassion, and meets the needs of patients through innovative service delivery and patient education programs.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Strategic Management Lead the breast care unit, setting strategic goals and objectives that align with the facility’s mission and patient care standards. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operation of the unit.
Clinical Excellence Ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care by maintaining high clinical standards and adopting the latest in breast care treatment and technologies. Facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, involving specialists from surgery, oncology, radiology, and pathology.
Team Development and Management Recruit, hire, and train a skilled team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, technicians, and administrative staff. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Quality Improvement and Compliance Oversee quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices in breast care.
Financial and Resource Management Develop and manage the unit’s budget, optimizing the allocation of resources for patient care, equipment, and staff development. Monitor and adjust expenditures to meet financial goals.
Patient and Community Engagement Advocate for patient-centered care and maintain strong communication with patients and their families. Lead community outreach and education initiatives on breast health and cancer prevention.
Research and Innovation Encourage and participate in research activities and clinical trials to advance the field of breast care. Implement evidence-based practices and innovative solutions to improve patient outcomes.

Education Qualifications: Education: Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Additional certification in oncology or breast care nursing is preferred.
Experience: Significant experience in oncology or breast care nursing, with a proven track record in clinical leadership and management roles.
Licensing/Certification: Valid and active registered nurse (RN) license. Certification as a Breast Care Nurse (CBCN) or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) is advantageous.
Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Deep knowledge of breast health, cancer care, and the latest treatment modalities. Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team and develop strategic partnerships.
