Job Description: The General Dentist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of oral health issues in patients. This role involves providing preventive care, performing routine dental procedures, and educating patients on maintaining good oral hygiene, while ensuring adherence to the standards and guidelines set by the Dental Council of India.
Key Responsibilities: Patient Diagnosis: Examine patients’ teeth, gums, and overall oral health to diagnose problems.
Preventive Care: Perform preventive treatments such as cleanings, fluoride applications, and sealants to prevent dental issues.
Restorative Treatments: Provide restorative procedures, including fillings, crowns, and bridges.
Extractions: Conduct simple and surgical tooth extractions when necessary.
Patient Education: Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dietary choices, and preventive measures.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and medical history.
Infection Control: Adhere to strict sterilization and infection control protocols in compliance with Indian healthcare standards.
Collaboration: Coordinate with specialists and other healthcare providers for advanced or complex cases.
Emergency Care: Provide immediate treatment for dental emergencies such as pain, trauma, or infections.
Continuing Education: Stay updated on advancements in dentistry and incorporate new techniques or technologies into practice.
Education Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from a recognized institution approved by the Dental Council of India.
Licensure: Valid registration with the State Dental Council in India.
Preferred: Additional certifications or training in cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, or orthodontics.
