Job Description: The Senior Haematologist is responsible for performing and supervising advanced haematological diagnostic tests, interpreting complex test results, and providing critical insights to support patient care. This role involves mentoring junior staff, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and contributing to research and innovation in the field of haematology.
Key Responsibilities: Haematological Testing: Conduct and oversee advanced tests, including complete blood counts (CBC), bone marrow analysis, and coagulation studies.
Test Interpretation: Analyze and interpret haematological data to provide accurate diagnoses and clinical recommendations.
Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
Mentoring: Train and guide junior haematologists, lab technicians, and support staff to enhance their diagnostic capabilities.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all diagnostic processes adhere to NABL, CAP, and ISO standards.
Equipment Management: Supervise the maintenance and calibration of haematology lab equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Research and Development: Participate in research initiatives to develop and adopt new diagnostic methods and technologies in haematology.
Reporting: Prepare detailed diagnostic reports and communicate findings to clinicians and other healthcare professionals.
Collaboration: Work closely with pathologists and other departments to provide integrated diagnostic solutions.
Continuing Education: Stay updated on advancements in haematology and attend relevant medical conferences and training sessions.
Education Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: MBBS with MD or DNB in Pathology/Haematology.
Preferred: Additional certifications in advanced haematology techniques or quality systems (e.g., Flow Cytometry, Six Sigma).
Experience: Several years of experience in haematology diagnostics, with expertise in interpreting complex cases and mentoring junior staff.
