Job Description: The Transport Coordinator is responsible for managing the transportation of diagnostic specimens, medical supplies, and laboratory equipment. This role ensures timely and safe delivery while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, supporting seamless laboratory operations and patient care.
Key Responsibilities: Logistics Coordination: Plan and coordinate the transportation of specimens, supplies, and equipment to and from healthcare facilities.
Route Optimization: Develop efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries and reduce transportation costs.
Compliance: Ensure transportation practices adhere to NABL, CAP, ISO, and local regulatory standards for handling biological specimens and medical supplies.
Vehicle Management: Oversee the maintenance, scheduling, and safety of transport vehicles.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery schedules, and specimen tracking.
Communication: Act as a liaison between laboratory staff, drivers, and external vendors to ensure smooth transport operations.
Risk Management: Identify potential delays or risks in transportation and implement solutions to mitigate them.
Quality Control: Monitor the handling and storage conditions during transport to maintain the integrity of specimens and supplies.
Reporting: Generate reports on transportation efficiency, delivery times, and incidents for management review.
Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with third-party logistics providers to ensure high-quality service and timely deliveries.
Education Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Diploma or certification in logistics, transportation management, or supply chain management.
Experience: Experience in transportation or logistics roles, preferably in healthcare or laboratory settings.
