Job Description: A Plastic Surgery Nurse plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures. They work closely with plastic surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities: Preoperative Care: Conducting patient assessments, obtaining medical histories, and preparing patients for surgery.
Intraoperative Assistance: Assisting surgeons during procedures, managing surgical equipment, and ensuring a sterile surgical environment.
Postoperative Care: Monitoring patients post-surgery, managing pain, providing wound care, and educating patients on postoperative instructions and recovery.
Patient Education: Offering guidance on preoperative and postoperative care, explaining procedures, and addressing patient concerns.
Collaboration: Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate medical records, documenting patient progress, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Patient Advocacy: Advocating for patient needs, ensuring informed consent, and promoting patient safety throughout the surgical process.

Education Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the relevant state or country.
Certification: Certification in Plastic Surgical Nursing (CPSN) or willingness to obtain certification.
Experience: Prior experience in surgical nursing, preferably in plastic surgery or a related field.
Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, proficiency in surgical nursing techniques, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
