Job Description
- The Cath Lab Nurse plays a critical role in cardiovascular care, specializing in assisting during cardiac catheterization procedures and other interventions in the cardiac catheterization laboratory (Cath Lab).
- This role involves providing direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, and assisting cardiologists and other healthcare professionals during procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Procedure Assistance: Assist cardiologists and cardiac catheterization technologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Monitoring: Monitor patients' vital signs and assess their condition during and after procedures, recognizing and responding to any complications.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to procedures, medications administered, and patient progress.
- Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with information about procedures, recovery, and post-procedure care.
Education Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Experience in critical care, cardiac care, or cath lab nursing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and catheterization procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
