They provide direct patient care, support recovery processes, and act as intermediaries between patients and physicians.
Nurses are vital in assessing patient needs, administering treatments, monitoring patient progress, and educating patients and their families on health management.

Conduct patient assessments to identify health needs and concerns.
Administer medications, treatments, and vaccines as prescribed by physicians.
Monitor patient progress and response to treatments, adjusting care plans as necessary.
Educate patients and families on disease management, medication regimes, and preventive health practices.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and reports.
Assist in diagnostic tests and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and compliance.
Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members to provide coordinated care.
Provide emotional support to patients and their families, addressing concerns and promoting positive health behaviors.

For RNs: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN).
For LPNs: Completion of a practical nursing program and passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN).
For NPs: Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing and additional certification in a specialized area of practice.
Current nursing license in the state of practice.
Clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with specific requirements varying by role and specialty.
