Job Description
- The Emergency Nursing In-Charge is a senior nursing professional responsible for overseeing the operations and quality of care within the Emergency Department (ED).
- This role involves leading the nursing team, coordinating patient flow, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- The position requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and the ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all nursing activities in the Emergency Department.
- Allocate staff efficiently based on patient acuity and departmental needs.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and emergency care protocols.
- Assist in clinical procedures and provide expert nursing care in complex or critical cases.
- Monitor the performance of nursing staff, conduct regular evaluations, and identify training needs.
- Facilitate effective communication between nursing, medical, and support staff for optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain inventory and ensure availability of emergency supplies and equipment.
- Handle patient and family concerns professionally and empathetically.
- Participate in departmental audits, incident reporting, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Education Qualifications
- B.Sc. Nursing or GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) from a recognized institution.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with State or National Nursing Council.
- Post Basic Specialization or Certification in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing (preferred).
