The Laboratory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a clinical or research laboratory.
This role involves managing laboratory staff, ensuring the quality and efficiency of laboratory tests, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and overseeing the laboratory budget and supplies.

Supervise and manage laboratory personnel, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance.
Ensure laboratory compliance with industry standards and regulations, including CLIA, CAP, and OSHA requirements.
Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to improve efficiency and quality of services.
Manage the laboratory budget, including procurement of supplies and equipment, and monitor expenditures to ensure financial objectives are met.
Oversee the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure accurate test results.
Implement quality control and assurance programs to meet regulatory standards and improve laboratory services.
Coordinate with other healthcare professionals and departments to ensure timely and accurate test results for patient care.
Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and implement new techniques and equipment as appropriate.
Address and resolve any issues related to laboratory operations, including patient complaints and staff concerns.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or equivalent.
Proven experience in laboratory management or a supervisory role in a clinical laboratory setting.
In-depth knowledge of laboratory procedures, standards, and regulations.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Leadership and team management skills to effectively oversee laboratory staff and operations.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality laboratory standards and patient safety.
Analytical skills to evaluate laboratory processes and implement improvements.
Ability to manage a budget and make cost-effective decisions regarding laboratory supplies and equipment.
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with healthcare professionals and addressing patient or staff concerns.
