Job Description: An Assistant Consultant in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) supports senior consultants and the CTVS team in diagnosing, managing, and surgically treating diseases of the heart, lungs, esophagus, and vascular system. This role involves assisting in complex surgical procedures, patient care, research, and contributing to the overall function and efficiency of the CTVS department.
Key Responsibilities: Assist senior consultants in diagnosing and managing cardiothoracic and vascular conditions.
Participate in and support complex surgical procedures, ensuring high standards of care.
Conduct pre-operative and post-operative assessments and care under the supervision of senior consultants.
Develop and implement patient treatment plans in collaboration with the CTVS team.
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and documentation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
Stay updated with advancements in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery techniques and technologies.
Participate in clinical research and contribute to academic publications.
Assist in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines, best practices, and healthcare regulations.
Engage in patient education, counseling, and follow-up care.
Participate in departmental meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
Support the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Contribute to community outreach and patient education programs.
Assist in managing and resolving patient inquiries and concerns.
Education Qualifications: Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with specialization in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery.
Board eligibility or certification in Cardiothoracic and/or Vascular Surgery.
Clinical experience in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery.
Strong diagnostic, clinical, and surgical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
