Job Description: The Assistant Finance Manager plays a critical role in supporting the finance department by managing day-to-day financial activities, assisting with budget preparation, and financial reporting. This role serves as a bridge between the finance team and other departments, ensuring accurate financial management and compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; analyze financial data to identify trends and financial status.
Budget Management: Help in developing and managing the company’s budget, forecasting financial outcomes, and reporting variances.
Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed analyses to support decision-making; provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
Audit and Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor the organization’s cash flow forecasts and perform treasury duties.
Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with other departments to help them plan and manage their budgets.
Team Support: Assist in managing the finance team, providing guidance, and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Education Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. A Master’s degree or professional accounting qualification such as CPA or CFA is highly advantageous.
Experience: Proven experience in financial management or as a Financial Analyst; experience in supervising a team is preferred.
Skills: Strong understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles; proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
Certifications: CPA, CFA, or similar certification is beneficial.
