Job Description: The Attending / Associate Consultant in Cardiac Anaesthesia is a specialized role responsible for managing the anaesthesia care of patients undergoing cardiac surgery and procedures. This position involves pre-operative assessment, developing anaesthesia plans, executing intra-operative care, and post-operative management, including pain management and support for cardiac function. The role demands a high level of expertise in anaesthesiology, particularly in the cardiac subspecialty, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities: Pre-operative Assessment: Conduct thorough pre-operative evaluations of patients, including reviewing medical history and planning anaesthesia care in collaboration with cardiac surgeons and other healthcare professionals.
Anaesthesia Administration: Safely administer anesthesia and monitor patients’ responses during cardiac procedures, adjusting anaesthetic plans as necessary.
Intra-operative Care: Manage patients’ airway and fluid balance, monitor cardiac and pulmonary functions during surgery, and adjust anaesthetic management based on intra-operative events.
Post-operative Care: Provide post-operative care, including pain management and support for cardiac and respiratory functions, ensuring a smooth recovery.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other anaesthesiologists to ensure comprehensive care for cardiac surgery patients.
Education and Training: Participate in the training and mentoring of residents, fellows, and other medical staff in cardiac anaesthesiology techniques and protocols.
Research and Continuous Improvement: Engage in research activities to advance knowledge in cardiac anaesthesiology and improve patient care protocols.

Education Qualifications: Medical degree from a recognized institution.
Completed residency in Anaesthesiology, followed by fellowship training in Cardiac Anaesthesiology.
Board certified or eligible in Anaesthesiology, with additional certification in Cardiac Anaesthesiology preferred.
Valid and active medical license.
Demonstrated experience in cardiac anaesthesia care, with a strong understanding of cardiac physiology and pharmacology.
