Job Description: Cardiac Care Nurses are specialized nursing professionals who provide care to patients with various heart diseases and conditions. They work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, cardiac care units, and outpatient clinics. These nurses play a critical role in the monitoring, treatment, and support of patients undergoing cardiac procedures or recovering from heart-related illnesses. Their expertise extends to educating patients and their families on managing heart conditions and preventing future cardiac issues.

Key Responsibilities: Patient Monitoring Continuously monitor vital signs, ECGs, and other relevant health indicators of patients with cardiac conditions.
Medication Administration Administer prescribed medications and monitor their effectiveness while watching for adverse reactions.
Postoperative Care Provide care for patients recovering from cardiac surgeries, such as bypass surgery or valve replacements, including wound care and monitoring for complications.
Patient Education Educate patients and their families on lifestyle changes, dietary recommendations, and medication management to promote heart health.
Emergency Response Quickly recognize signs of cardiac distress and provide immediate care or intervention as part of the emergency response team.
Rehabilitation Support Assist in the rehabilitation of cardiac patients, providing encouragement and monitoring progress.

Education Qualifications: Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is often preferred, though an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) may be acceptable. Additional certification in cardiac-vascular nursing or critical care is highly valued.
Licensing/Certification: Must hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license. Certification as a Cardiac Vascular Nurse (RN-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center or similar may be required or preferred.
Experience: Experience in a cardiac care unit, ICU, or similar environment is typically required. New graduates may need to complete specialized training or a residency in cardiac care.
