Job Description: The Clinical Lead – Breast Surgeon is a highly specialized role that entails leading the breast surgery unit within a healthcare facility. This position involves providing expert surgical care to patients with breast conditions, primarily focusing on the treatment of breast cancer and benign breast diseases. As a Clinical Lead, the Breast Surgeon not only performs surgeries but also plays a pivotal role in strategizing the unit’s approach to patient care, integrating the latest research and techniques into clinical practice, and mentoring junior surgeons and medical staff.

Key Responsibilities: Surgical Expertise: Perform a wide range of breast surgeries, including lumpectomies, mastectomies, and reconstructive procedures, with a focus on optimizing patient outcomes and cosmetic results.
Clinical Leadership: Guide the breast surgery unit’s clinical direction, setting high standards for patient care and ensuring adherence to the latest evidence-based practices.
Team Development: Mentor and support the professional development of junior surgeons, residents, and medical staff within the unit. Lead by example in providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
Quality Improvement and Safety: Champion initiatives aimed at improving clinical outcomes, patient safety, and the overall quality of breast care services. Participate in the review and analysis of clinical data to identify areas for improvement.
Research and Education: Engage in research activities to advance the field of breast surgery. Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows in breast surgery techniques and patient care.
Patient Advocacy and Support: Advocate for patients by providing information, support, and guidance throughout their treatment journey. Ensure patients are informed about their treatment options and are involved in decision-making processes.
Policy and Procedure Development: Collaborate with healthcare administrators to develop policies, procedures, and protocols that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the breast surgery unit.

Education Qualifications: MD or DO degree with a specialization in Surgery, followed by further specialization in Breast Surgery.
Experience: Extensive clinical experience in breast surgery, demonstrating proficiency in a variety of surgical techniques and patient care.
Licensing/Certification: Board certification in General Surgery with additional certification or fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology.
Skills: Exceptional surgical skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and medical staff.
