Job Description: The Distribution Assistant is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of laboratory materials, supplies, and diagnostic reports. This role ensures timely delivery, proper handling, and accurate tracking of items to support smooth laboratory operations and patient care.
Key Responsibilities: Material Handling: Receive, organize, and store laboratory supplies, specimens, and diagnostic reports.
Distribution Coordination: Ensure timely and accurate delivery of diagnostic reports and materials to internal departments, clinicians, and external clients.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the supervisor to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all distributed items, including reports, supplies, and specimens.
Compliance: Adhere to safety and regulatory standards for handling laboratory materials, especially biohazards and sensitive data.
Packaging: Safely package specimens and reports for distribution to maintain their integrity and confidentiality.
Equipment Use: Operate vehicles or equipment, if necessary, for external deliveries, adhering to transportation safety guidelines.
Communication: Coordinate with laboratory staff, couriers, and clients to resolve delivery-related queries or issues.
Quality Assurance: Inspect items before distribution to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper condition.
Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on distribution activities and inventory status.
Educational Qualifications Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Certification or training in logistics, inventory management, or laboratory operations.
Experience: Prior experience in logistics, inventory, or distribution roles within a healthcare or laboratory setting is advantageous.
