Job Description: An Endoscopy Technician assists gastroenterologists and surgeons in performing endoscopic procedures to diagnose and treat gastrointestinal conditions. This role involves preparing patients for procedures, maintaining endoscopic equipment, and providing support during the procedure.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare endoscopic equipment and instruments for procedures.
Assist in patient preparation and positioning.
Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
Set up and operate endoscopic equipment under supervision.
Assist physicians during endoscopic examinations and interventions.
Monitor patient vital signs and response during procedures.
Handle and process specimens for laboratory analysis.
Maintain cleanliness and sterility of procedure rooms and equipment.
Document patient information and procedure details accurately.
Provide post-procedure care instructions to patients.
Assist in inventory management and equipment maintenance.
Follow infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
Collaborate with healthcare team members for optimal patient care.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and training programs.
Stay updated with advancements in endoscopy technology and procedures.
Education Qualifications: Diploma or associate degree in endoscopy technology or related field.
Certification as an Endoscopy Technician preferred.
Knowledge of endoscopic procedures and equipment.
Proficiency in using endoscopic instruments and software.
