Job Description: ENT Nurses, also known as Otolaryngology Nurses, specialize in the care of patients with ear, nose, throat (ENT), and head and neck disorders. These registered nurses work closely with otolaryngologists to provide clinical care, surgical assistance, patient education, and postoperative care. Their role is pivotal in settings ranging from hospitals and outpatient surgical centers to private practices and specialized ENT clinics.

Key Responsibilities: Clinical Care Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients suffering from a variety of ENT conditions, including infections, tumors, deformities, and injuries related to the ear, nose, throat, and the head and neck region.
Surgical Assistance Assist in surgical procedures, ensuring the operating room is prepared, equipment is available and functioning, and assisting surgeons as needed during operations.
Patient Education Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, post-operative care, and lifestyle modifications to manage or improve their conditions.
Pre- and Postoperative Care Prepare patients for surgery and provide care post-surgery, monitoring for complications, managing pain, and supporting recovery.
Diagnostic Support Assist in performing and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as audiometric exams and endoscopic procedures, to help diagnose ENT conditions.
Coordination of Care Work closely with ENT physicians, audiologists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
Administration and Documentation Handle patient records, document care plans and progress, and manage scheduling and follow-up appointments.

Education Qualifications: Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
Licensure: Must hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Certification: Certification in Otolaryngology Nursing (CORLN) offered by the Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head-Neck Nurses (SOHN) is highly regarded but not always required.
Experience: Previous experience in ENT, surgery, or a related field is beneficial.
