They play a crucial role in early detection of dental problems and refer patients to specialists when necessary.

Patient Examination: Conduct comprehensive oral examinations to assess the overall oral health of patients.
Diagnosis and Treatment Planning: Diagnose oral diseases and formulate detailed treatment plans to restore and maintain oral health.
Dental Procedures: Perform various dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, root canals, and placing crowns and bridges.
Preventive Care: Educate patients on oral hygiene, provide preventive care advice, and perform routine cleanings and fluoride treatments.
Emergency Care: Provide treatment for dental emergencies.
Collaboration and Referrals: Collaborate with dental specialists and other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care; refer patients to specialists when necessary.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of patient care, treatment plans, and progress.
Patient Management: Manage patient care and follow-up, ensuring satisfaction and health improvement.

Educational Background: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
Licensing: Licensed to practice dentistry in the state where they operate.
Experience: While new graduates are eligible, experience in a clinical setting can be advantageous.
Continuing Education: Commitment to ongoing professional education to stay informed of new research and advances in the dental field.

Manual Dexterity and Precision: Excellent coordination and ability to perform intricate dental procedures.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport with patients and make them feel comfortable.
Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication to explain dental concepts and treatment plans to patients.
