Job Description: The Head of Histopathology oversees the operations of the histopathology department in a pathology laboratory. This role involves supervising diagnostic testing, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards, leading a team of histopathologists and technicians, and driving innovation and efficiency in histopathological diagnostics. The Head of Histopathology is integral in providing accurate tissue-based diagnoses that aid in patient care and treatment.

Key Responsibilities: Departmental Leadership: Manage and oversee the operations of the histopathology department, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance.
Diagnostic Oversight: Supervise and validate histopathological tests, including tissue biopsies, immunohistochemistry, and frozen section analyses.
Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure accuracy and reliability in diagnostic results.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to NABL, CAP, ISO, and other relevant regulatory standards.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and train histopathologists, lab technicians, and other staff members.
Research and Development: Promote research initiatives and the adoption of innovative diagnostic techniques in histopathology.
Resource Management: Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and calibration of histopathology equipment and supplies.
Collaboration: Work closely with clinicians, oncologists, and other specialists to provide diagnostic insights.
Reporting: Interpret complex histopathological findings and prepare detailed diagnostic reports.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of the histopathology department.

Education Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: MBBS with MD or DNB in Pathology.
Preferred: Additional certifications in advanced histopathology techniques or laboratory management (e.g., Immunohistochemistry or NABL Assessor).
Experience: Extensive experience in histopathology, with proven leadership capabilities and a track record of diagnostic excellence.
