Job Description: The Head of Production (Pharmaceuticals) in India oversees the manufacturing operations within a pharmaceutical production facility. The role ensures adherence to Indian pharmaceutical regulatory requirements, including CDSCO and Schedule M, while maintaining efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high product quality. The role also involves optimizing production processes and aligning with industry standards like GMP and WHO guidelines.
Key Responsibilities: Production Management: Plan and execute production schedules to meet demand and delivery timelines while ensuring quality compliance.
Compliance: Ensure all production processes meet regulatory standards such as CDSCO, Schedule M, GMP, and WHO-GMP guidelines.
Quality Assurance: Work with QA/QC teams to ensure pharmaceutical products meet Indian Pharmacopeia (IP) and global standards.
Resource Utilization: Optimize the use of labor, materials, and equipment to achieve efficiency and minimize costs.
Regulatory Audits: Prepare for and manage inspections by regulatory bodies like CDSCO, FDA India, and state drug controllers.
Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement in production processes using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
Safety Standards: Ensure adherence to EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) protocols and compliance with labor laws in India.
Team Management: Lead, train, and motivate a large workforce, including managing unionized labor, if applicable.
Supply Chain Coordination: Work with supply chain teams to ensure raw material availability and minimize downtime.
Data Reporting: Monitor and report key metrics such as yield, productivity, and quality to senior management.
Education Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Operations Management, Pharmaceutical Technology, or a related field.
Certifications: Certifications in GMP, WHO-GMP, or Lean Six Sigma; knowledge of Schedule M, CDSCO, and Indian Pharmacopeia regulations.
