Job Description: Administrative Staff in a healthcare setting play a critical role in supporting the seamless operation of hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities. They perform a variety of tasks that include managing patient records, scheduling appointments, handling billing and insurance claims, and providing general administrative support to clinical staff. Key Responsibilities: Patient Administration: Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Schedule appointments and follow up on patient visits and treatments.
Billing and Insurance Processing: Handle billing processes, submit insurance claims, and follow up on reimbursements. Assist patients with billing inquiries and insurance issues.
Front Desk Operations: Serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. Manage check-ins, direct patients to the appropriate departments, and provide information as needed.
Support Clinical Staff: Assist healthcare professionals by managing paperwork, scheduling patient tests and procedures, and coordinating with other departments.
Records Management: Maintain and update patient records, administrative documents, and operational reports, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Communication: Facilitate effective communication within the facility and with external parties, including scheduling meetings, handling correspondence, and answering phone calls.
Inventory and Supplies Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of office and medical supplies, ensuring that essential items are always available.
Compliance and Reporting: Assist with compliance efforts by maintaining accurate records and reports as required by healthcare regulations and facility policies.
Education Qualifications: Educational Background: High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting. Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures is beneficial.
Skills and Competencies: Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Proficiency in office software and electronic health records systems. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Knowledge of billing, coding, and insurance processes.
