Job Description: A Staff Nurse is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients in various settings such as hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and private homes. The role involves assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records.
Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Administer medications, monitor patient vitals, and provide necessary treatment as prescribed by a physician. Assist in procedures and provide updates on patient status.
Care Planning: Develop and evaluate daily nursing care plans for patients based on their specific needs.
Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and report any significant changes in patient condition or incidents to appropriate medical team members.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on illness prevention, health maintenance, and the appropriate post-hospital treatment plan.
Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient care is coordinated and effective.
Compliance: Follow hospital policies and procedures to comply with all health and safety regulations.
Education Qualifications: Educational Background: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Licensure/Certification: Must hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license. Additional certification in CPR, BLS, or relevant specialties may be required or beneficial.
Experience: Experience in a clinical setting is preferred, though new graduates are also eligible for entry-level positions.
Skills: Strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a compassionate nature.
