1. Preparing patient charts and gathering information and documents from patients
2. Ensuring that the medical records are organized, accurate and complete
3. Creating digital copies of paperwork and storing the records electronically
4. Filing the paperwork and reports of inpatients quickly and accurately
5. Safeguarding patient records and ensuring that everyone complies with the HIPAA standards
6. Transferring data into the facility’s main system database
7. Processing the records for admitting and discharging patients
8. Preparing invoices
