Job Description: An Ophthalmologist is a medical doctor specialized in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye conditions and diseases. This role involves performing eye exams, surgical procedures, and prescribing treatments or corrective lenses.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive eye and vision examinations to diagnose ocular diseases and vision disorders.
Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses to correct vision problems.
Perform surgical interventions for conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and strabismus.
Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients undergoing eye surgery.
Manage treatments for conditions like diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.
Offer emergency care for eye injuries and acute eye diseases.
Educate patients on eye care and preventive practices.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care, especially for systemic diseases affecting the eye.
Conduct research in the field of ophthalmology to stay updated with advancements in treatments and technology.
Maintain detailed records of patient care and adhere to healthcare regulations and standards.

Education Qualifications: Medical degree (MD) followed by a residency in Ophthalmology.
Board certification in Ophthalmology.
License to practice medicine in the respective state or country.
Proficiency in using ophthalmic equipment and tools for diagnosis and surgery.
Strong understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and diseases of the eye.
