Job Description: An Optometrist Technician assists optometrists in providing eye care services to patients. This role involves conducting preliminary eye exams, maintaining optical equipment, managing patient records, and supporting the optometrist in diagnosing and treating vision problems.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct preliminary eye exams and vision tests.
Assist in fitting and adjusting eyewear.
Maintain and calibrate optical equipment.
Record patient medical histories and maintain accurate records.
Educate patients on eye care and proper use of contact lenses and glasses.
Schedule and manage patient appointments.
Assist optometrists during eye examinations and procedures.
Perform administrative tasks, including billing and coding.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Order and manage inventory of optical supplies.
Provide pre- and post-operative care instructions for eye surgeries.
Perform visual field tests and other diagnostic procedures.
Assist in contact lens fittings and training.
Troubleshoot and repair minor issues with optical equipment.
Participate in community outreach programs to promote eye health.

Education Qualifications: Diploma or associate degree in optometry technology or related field.
Certification as an Optometrist Technician preferred.
Knowledge of optometric procedures and equipment.
Proficiency in using optical diagnostic tools and software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic understanding of billing and coding in healthcare.
