Physician Assistants (PAs) are highly skilled healthcare professionals licensed to practice medicine under the supervision of physicians and surgeons.
They are trained to diagnose illnesses, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and may serve as a patient’s principal healthcare provider.
With a broad range of medical knowledge and clinical skills, PAs work in various specialties, including primary care, surgery, pediatrics, and emergency medicine, enhancing healthcare accessibility and quality.

Conduct patient interviews, take medical histories, and perform physical examinations.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work and x-rays.
Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries.
Prescribe medications and other treatments.
Assist in surgeries or perform procedures within their scope of practice.
Provide patient education and counseling to promote wellness and disease prevention.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Master’s degree from an accredited physician assistant program.
Passing the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) to obtain licensure.
State licensure as required by law.
Strong foundation in medical sciences and clinical medicine.
Specialized training or certification in chosen fields may be necessary for certain specialties.
