Job Description: Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) are vital frontline staff in healthcare settings, responsible for creating a welcoming, efficient, and respectful atmosphere for patients. They serve as the initial point of contact for patients entering a healthcare facility, and their roles encompass a wide range of administrative tasks aimed at facilitating a smooth healthcare experience.

Key Responsibilities: Greet patients and visitors, providing directions or assistance as needed.
Register new patients, verifying and updating personal and insurance information in the healthcare facility’s system.
Schedule appointments, manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, and handle cancellations or rescheduling.
Answer phone calls, responding to inquiries, and relaying messages to appropriate staff.
Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket expenses from patients.
Coordinate with medical staff to ensure patient flow is efficient and wait times are minimized.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
Provide patients with information regarding services, policies, and procedures.

Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical office management or related field preferred.
Experience in customer service or healthcare settings is advantageous.
Proficiency with medical software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of healthcare insurance and billing procedures.
