Job Description: Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) are vital members of the healthcare team, providing front-line support and service to patients and their families. They ensure smooth administrative processes, facilitate communication between patients and medical staff, and enhance the overall patient experience by offering guidance and assistance throughout the healthcare journey.

Key Responsibilities: Greet patients upon arrival and assist with the check-in process, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and accurate.
Schedule appointments and manage the healthcare provider’s calendar, including rescheduling and managing cancellations.
Handle patient inquiries in person, via phone, or through electronic communication, providing timely and accurate information.
Verify and update patient information in the electronic health records (EHR) system, ensuring privacy and compliance with regulations.
Process patient billing and payments, explaining charges and payment options clearly and accurately.
Coordinate with insurance companies for claim processing, pre-authorizations, and benefits verification.
Facilitate patient flow by communicating wait times and ensuring that patients are directed to the appropriate department or service area.
Provide patients with information about services, policies, and procedures of the healthcare facility.
Collect feedback from patients regarding their experience, aiming to improve service quality and patient satisfaction.
Work closely with medical staff and other departments to resolve issues and ensure coordinated care for patients.

Education Qualifications: High school diploma required; additional certification or training in medical office management or related field is a plus.
Experience in a customer service or patient-facing role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy environment.
Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare procedures, and insurance processes.
Commitment to patient privacy and adherence to confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
