Phlebotomist for Vijaya Diagnostic Centre – Vishakapatnam

Job Description

1. Arrange daily activities based on urgency of requests for fluid samples
2. Identify patients and their personal information using their ID, documents or other means
3. Determine the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health etc.
4. Reassure patients and help them relax
5. Find veins that are suitable for puncture
6. Draw blood using sterilized needles, vials and other equipment
7. Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples
8. Label samples correctly and send or deliver them for testing
9. Answer patient questions and provide useful information
10. Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests
11. Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working
12. Help with blood transfusions when needed
