Job Description: The Radiology Director/Manager oversees the daily operations and administration of the radiology department in a healthcare facility. This role involves managing staff, budgets, and resources to ensure the effective delivery of radiology services, including diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures. The Director/Manager works closely with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to maintain high standards of patient care and service efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the radiology staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards.
Manage the department’s budget, including procurement of new equipment and supplies, and monitor expenditures to ensure financial objectives are met.
Oversee the maintenance of radiology equipment and technology, ensuring all are in optimal working condition and compliant with current standards.
Foster a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement among staff.
Coordinate with other department managers and healthcare providers to integrate radiology services into overall patient care plans.
Analyze department performance data to identify trends, resolve issues, and implement improvements in workflow, patient satisfaction, and efficiency.
Ensure patient privacy and adherence to protocols for the safe use of radiation and contrast materials.
Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Certification and licensure as a radiologic technologist, with advanced certifications in specific imaging modalities being a plus.
Significant experience in radiology or a related healthcare field, with proven managerial or supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of radiology department operations, including understanding of current imaging technologies, best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Represents the radiology department in committees and meetings, advocating for resources, improvements, and innovations that enhance patient care and departmental performance.
