Job Description: A Pediatrics Registrar is a physician specializing in the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. This role typically involves both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, where the registrar works under the supervision of senior pediatricians to provide comprehensive medical care to younger patients.
Key Responsibilities: Assess, diagnose, and treat illnesses and injuries in pediatric patients.
Conduct routine check-ups and vaccinations to monitor and promote healthy growth and development.
Collaborate with pediatric specialists to manage complex medical issues.
Provide guidance and advice on issues such as breastfeeding, nutrition, and preventive health care to parents and caregivers.
Respond to pediatric emergencies and provide urgent care when required.
Participate in the training and supervision of medical students and junior doctors.
Keep detailed records of patients’ health and treatment plans.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care.
Conduct research and contribute to studies in pediatrics as required.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
Education Qualifications: Medical degree from an accredited institution.
Completed internship and is currently enrolled in or has completed a residency in pediatrics.
Registration with a medical board or licensing authority.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be required.
