Job Description: Security personnel in healthcare settings are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Their duties encompass a wide range of security and safety tasks, including patrolling the facility, managing access control, responding to emergencies, and enforcing facility policies. The presence of security personnel is crucial in preventing incidents, ensuring peace of mind, and contributing to the overall well-being of everyone in the healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities: Patrolling: Conduct regular and random patrols of the healthcare facility, including emergency departments, parking lots, and other premises, to deter criminal activity and ensure safety.
Access Control: Manage access points to prevent unauthorized entry and ensure that only authorized individuals gain access to sensitive areas.
Emergency Response: Act swiftly in emergency situations, providing first response until the arrival of law enforcement or emergency medical services, if necessary.
Incident Reporting: Document and report security incidents and irregularities, maintaining detailed logs for legal and administrative use.
Policy Enforcement: Enforce hospital policies and procedures related to security, including visitor protocols and restricted area access.
Conflict Resolution: Address disturbances or conflicts among patients, visitors, or staff, using de-escalation techniques to resolve issues peacefully.
Surveillance Monitoring: Monitor security cameras and alarm systems, responding to alerts and coordinating appropriate action.
Safety Inspections: Conduct safety inspections and hazard assessments, identifying and mitigating potential risks to the facility.
Training and Awareness: Participate in ongoing security training and educate staff and visitors on safety protocols and emergency response procedures.

Education Qualifications: Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in security or law enforcement is highly beneficial. Experience in healthcare security is advantageous but not mandatory.
Licensing: Depending on the jurisdiction, may require a valid security guard license or certification.
Skills and Competencies: Strong observational skills, ability to respond effectively to emergencies, knowledge of de-escalation techniques, basic first aid and CPR training, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
