Job Description
- Ensuring that all pharmacy staff are knowledgeable about the department’s policies and procedures
- Providing consultation services to patients regarding their medications and possible side effects
- Participating in continuing education programs regarding new drugs and drug interactions
- Performing physical examinations of patients to diagnose possible health problems that may be related to medication use
- Recommending and implementing new technologies to improve workflow efficiency and patient care
- Recommending changes to pharmacy procedures to improve workflow efficiency
- Reviewing patient records to ensure proper medication dosages are being administered
- Monitoring inventory levels of all drugs in order to ensure that there is an adequate supply available for patient care
- Conducting research on new drugs or developing new methods for storing and administering medications to patients
