Job Description: The Department Coordinator plays a critical role in the smooth operation of a healthcare department, serving as a linchpin for administration, communication, and coordination tasks. This position involves supporting the department head, facilitating communication among staff, managing schedules, and handling administrative duties to ensure efficient departmental function.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point of contact for departmental inquiries, directing communications to appropriate staff members.
Coordinate meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and organizing meeting materials.
Manage administrative tasks such as document preparation, data entry, and maintaining departmental records.
Assist in budget preparation and monitor expenditures.
Support the onboarding process for new employees and coordinate training sessions.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards within the department.
Facilitate communication between the department and other hospital units or external organizations.
Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements in some cases.
Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably within a healthcare setting.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software, as well as healthcare management systems.
