Job Description: A Floor Manager plays a crucial role in the operations of a variety of settings, including retail stores, restaurants, hotels, or any establishment that requires management of a physical space and direct interaction with customers. This position involves overseeing the day-to-day operations on the floor, ensuring that customers receive high-quality service, and the environment is well-maintained, safe, and welcoming. The Floor Manager supervises staff, manages inventory, addresses customer inquiries and complaints, and ensures compliance with company policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities: Staff Supervision: Oversee the staff working on the floor, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation. Ensure staff are well-informed about their duties and the standards of service expected.
Customer Service: Ensure customers receive prompt, friendly, and efficient service. Address and resolve customer complaints and inquiries, aiming to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Operations Management: Monitor daily operations on the floor to ensure compliance with operational standards, safety regulations, and cleanliness. Implement strategies to optimize workflow and efficiency.
Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control, including stock monitoring, ordering, and organizing. Ensure that the floor is adequately stocked with merchandise or materials as required.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all activities on the floor comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Maintain a safe environment for both staff and customers.
Sales and Promotions: Work with the marketing and sales teams to implement sales strategies and promotions effectively on the floor. Motivate and train staff on sales techniques and product knowledge.
Reporting: Prepare and present reports on floor activities, sales performance, customer feedback, and staff productivity to upper management. Use these insights for continuous improvement.
Education Qualifications: Educational Background: A diploma or degree in business management, hospitality, retail management, or a related field is preferred, although significant experience in a similar role can substitute for formal education.
Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the relevant industry. Experience in customer service and team management is highly desirable.
Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills, excellent communication and customer service skills, organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations.
