The ICU Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the Intensive Care Unit, ensuring efficient patient flow, optimal resource utilization, and effective communication among multidisciplinary teams.
This role supports clinical staff, facilitates administrative tasks, and promotes adherence to policies and quality standards to deliver high-quality critical care services.

Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges within the ICU to maintain optimal bed utilization and patient flow.
Act as a communication liaison between medical teams, nursing staff, patients, families, and hospital administration.
Assist in scheduling staff shifts, managing workload distribution, and addressing staffing shortages in collaboration with nurse managers.
Monitor ICU capacity and resource availability, ensuring necessary equipment and supplies are stocked and operational.
Facilitate multidisciplinary rounds and meetings, ensuring clear documentation of plans and actions.
Support quality assurance initiatives, infection control compliance, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Manage data collection and reporting related to ICU performance metrics, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.
Assist in the implementation of clinical protocols, process improvements, and staff training programs.
Handle patient and family inquiries, provide information, and support conflict resolution when needed.
Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities within the ICU.

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
Clinical background in critical care nursing or allied health is highly desirable.
Experience in ICU settings or hospital operations management is an advantage.
Familiarity with healthcare information systems and data management tools.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating diverse teams.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Proactive problem solver with leadership and conflict-resolution skills.
Understanding of ICU clinical workflows, patient care standards, and regulatory requirements.
Proficient in data analysis, reporting, and use of electronic medical records (EMR).
Collaborative mindset with a commitment to improving patient care and staff satisfaction.
